Write a letter to your friend who is living in a foreign country about the condition of Nepal during covid-19 lockdown and people’s condition.

Corona virus (Covid-19) broke out from the Wuhan city of seafood market in China on December 30, 2019. It has gradually spread almost all over the world. In china, Chinese government enforced strict lockdown in the month of Pousha, Magha and Falgun. Covid-19 didn’t spread in Nepal although Nepal is neighbouring country of China. Taking into consideration, the pandemic covid-19 has been taking havoc forms in the world. Nepal has decided to start the lockdown completely from Chaitra 6, 2076. The government banned the people from walking, running different works in the country. Corona virus was not seen in Nepalese people for three months like Chaitra, Baisakh and Jestha. At the end of Jestha, Two or three people slowly was affected with corona virus. With the beginning of lockdown, the government decided not to open all school, colleges, cinema halls, gyms, health clubs and museums, shops, hotels, industries etc, as well as banned the gathering of people for cultural, social or religious activities, including Stupa, temples, shrines, monasteries, churches and mosques.

As a result, whether government vehicles, private and rented vehicles didn’t run on the road. It has created fear, agony, anxiety and uncertainty among the Nepalese people, the problem of people’s living in the morning and evening is getting worse and worse day by day. So far, industries, factories, shops, small hotels have come into operation partially after 4 months’ lockdown. But government, community, private schools, colleges, monasteries, swimming pools, playgrounds and tourism are closed. Even after Bada Dashain, the great festival of Nepalese, the government has not officially decided to end the covid-19 lockdown completely. The total number of people infected with the corona virus in Nepal is 1,85,978, while the number of recoveries people from corona virus (number of cures) is 1,44,978, the number of death toll is 1,034, active cases is 36,514 and 14,94,122 have been tested. The number of recoveries and the number of infected people are almost equal. The pandemic of corona virus has decreased in Nepal. There is not much to fear. The above data shows that Nepalese have strong immunity power. Nepal is ranked 32^nd among the countries infected with the corona virus.

The government has not distributed relief materials to the people. The social workers, celebrities and youths of the organizations, groups and committees are running a campaign to feed the workers, farmers, the poor, the mazdoor and the wage earners in different parts of the country. At present, all the people of Nepal are living in a very miserable and deplorable condition. All the people of Nepal are waiting for normal condition.

In the end, it has had an adverse effect on people's socio-economic life. Although the number of people infected with the corona virus is increasing in Nepal, the number of recoveries is also increasing. It seems that a lot of effort has to be made to improve the economic status of the country which has fallen due to the covid-19.

I would like to stop writing by giving so much information in today's letter. The next letter will give more information about the condition of Nepal during corona virus.

डिसेम्बर ३० मा चीनको बुहान शहरको माछा पसलबाट फैलिएको महामारी कोभिड–१९ हाल संसारको सबै देशहरुमा फैलिरहेको छ । चीनमा २०७६ साल पौष, माघ, फागुन महिनामा कडारुपमा लकडाउन गरिएको थियो । नेपाल चीनको छिमेकी देश भएतापनि तुरुन्तै कोभिड–१९ फैलिएको थिएन । नेपालमा सरकारले २०७६ साल चैत्र ६ गतेदेखि सम्पूर्ण देशबासीहरुलाई हिडडुल गर्न, दैनिक काम सञ्चालन गर्न बन्देज लगायो र देशमा लकडाउन शुरु भयो । चैत्रदेखि वैशाख, जेठसम्म प्रायः मानिसमा कोरोना भाइरस देखापरेको थिएन । जेठमहिनाको अन्त्यतिर फाटफुट एक दुई गर्दै कोरोना भाइरस मानिसमा देखा प¥यो । वैशाख, जेठ असारमा मानिसहरु बाहिर जान, हिडडुल गर्न पूर्णरुपमा बन्देज गरिएकोले कोही पनि बाहिर जान डराउँथे । कतै कोरोना भाइरसले आक्रान्त बनाउने हो कि या मार्ने हो कि भन्ने डरत्रास मनमा थियो । तीनमहिना देशमा सन्नाटा छायो । कतै पनि मानिस स्वतन्त्ररुपले हिडेको पाइएन । सवारीसाधनहरु चाहे सरकारी, निजी चाहे भाडाका गाडीहरु पनि चलेनन् । मानिस आफू मर्ने हो कि भनेर डराएको अवस्था हुँदाहुँदै पनि आफ्नो गुजरा चलाउन, बिहानबेलुकाको छाक टार्ने समस्या झनै बढ्दै गयो । चार महिनाको लकडाउनपछि हालसम्म उद्योग, कलकारखाना, पसल, ससाना होटलहरु आंशिकरुपमा सञ्चालनमा आएका छन् । तर सरकारी, सामुदायिक, निजी स्कूल, कलेज, मठमन्दिर, स्वीमिङपुल खेलमैदान, पर्यटनव्यवसाय बन्द रहेका छन् । नेपालीहरुको महान चाड बडादशैँपछि पनि पूर्णरुपमा लकडाउन खुलेको छैन । 

नेपालमा कोरोना भाइरसबाट सङ्क्रमितको सङ्ख्या जम्मा १,८५,९७४ जना छन् भने कोरोना भाइरसलाई जित्नेको सङ्ख्या (निको हुनेको सङ्ख्या) १,४४,९७८ जना, सक्रिय सङ्क्रमितको सङ्ख्या ३६,५१४ जना,  मृत्यु हुनेको सङ्ख्या १,०५२ जना र १४,९४,१२२ जनामा टेस्ट गरिएको छ । निको हुनेको सङ्ख्या र सङ्क्रमितको सङ्ख्या झण्डै बराबरीको सङ्ख्यामा देखिएको छ । नेपालमा कोरोना भाइरसको महामारी कम भएको छ । डराउनुपर्ने अवस्था त्यति छैन । नेपालीको प्रतिरक्षा क्षमता बलियो छ भन्ने कुरा माथिको तथ्याङ्कले देखाउँछ । नेपाल कोरोना भाइरसले सङ्क्रमित हुने देशहरुमध्ये ३२ औ स्थानमा  रहेको छ । 

सरकारले जनतालाई दिनुपर्ने राहात सामग्री वितरण गरेको छैन । संस्था, समूह र कमिटीका समाजसेवी, अभियन्ता, युवाहरुले देशको विभिन्न भागहरुका मजदुर, किसान, गरिब, ज्यालामजदुरी गर्ने व्यक्तिहरुलाई खाना खुवाउने अभियान चलाइरहेका छन् । अहिले नेपालका सबै मानिसहरुले अत्यन्तै दयनीय, टीठलाग्दो अवस्थामा जीवन गुज्रिरहेका छन् । सबै मानिसहरु सामान्य अवस्थाको पर्खाइमा छन् । 

अन्त्यमा भन्नुपर्दा, मानिसको आर्थिकसामाजिक जनजीवनमा नराम्रो असर परेको छ । नेपालमा कोरोना भाइरसले सङ्क्रमित हुनेको सङ्ख्या बढ्दै गएतापनि निको हुनको सङ्ख्या पनि बढ्दै गएको छ । आर्थिक अवस्थाले तल गिरेको अर्थतन्त्रलाई सुधार्न निकै प्रयास गर्नुपर्ने स्थिति देखिन्छ । 

आजको चिठीमा यति जानकारी दिँदै बिदा लिन चाहन्छु । अर्को चिठीमा कोरोनाको बारेमा विशेष जानकारी दिनेछु ।
